Thank you to those who made it February 8th. We were a small, but mighty group!
Thank you to our members who nominated charities – we had 13 in all. Christine Stewart made a passionate pitch in support of Magdalene House. Straight from the heart, Kim Fox made a case for Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre, and Dawna Morey shared The Lending Cupboard’s story.
In the end, once the votes were tallied, The Lending Cupboard was our group’s first choice. Congratulations – we look forward to hearing how our donations made a difference at our April meeting. We appreciate the incredibly valuable work The Lending Cupboard does in our community – all on a shoestring budget – and we know the monies will be well-spent. Thank you to Tara Hellewell and Melissa Devlin Parker for reporting back to the group. Our donations helped care for many dogs and cats, as well as some “pocket pets!” Thanks again to Lisa Lomsnes for the nomination.
Our next meeting is April 3. Which community organization could you help out? Give some thought to charities you could nominate. The nomination deadline is March 27th. Hope to see more of our members – we miss you when you’re not there! And by the way a special thanks to Leslee Burton and Valdene Callin for your help with our first ever photography booth!
